Hi All,

Does anyone know how to print BLOB fields from a Paradox 7 database using Crystal Report(8.5).

I have a project where I need to print data and image together.

When I use the browser to select the fields to print, the BLOB fields are not displayed. I looked on the internet and I found a site which said that the BLOB files were treated as Memos fields but it didn't say anything about printing memos or if memos can be printed.

I would appreciate any help on this.

If it is not possible does anyone have any alternative solutions to the problem.

Thanks in advanced

What is this "browser" that you tried using?

If you select Insert->Field Object->then the field should appear within the Database Fields of the Field Explorer, but
it will not appear within any formula editing, nor will you be able to select it for browsing the data from any wizards.

As for whether Crystal can "print" this, it can print anything that it can display. It's difficult to say whether Crystal will recognize what's in this BLOB, and it's unlikely anyone here can guess since you didn't share the format, so just try placing it on the report.

What format is the BLOB file in? CR can print BMP, JPG, GIF and TIF. Later versions support PNG and WMF (sometimes).

It needs to be an EMBEDDED IMAGE. CR by itself cannot take a file name and print it. You need something like my cViewIMAGE COM driver to print a file from a file name.
