Printing From Word (and any other word processor)

I have a couple of users who are unable to print to the correct sized paper when printing from Word or any other word processor (notepad). It asks for some weird size paper (8.5 x 12, etc.).

I can do a test print just fine and I can also print from other MS Office apps (powerpoint, excel etc.). I think this issue came about after an MS Office update. It does not matter which printer I print to. This happens to 1 or 2 users from time-to-time. How can I solve this problem? Thanks.

Anyone has any idea how to fix this? For the two users that I know that has this problem the printer keeps asking for strange paper sizes (8.5x13 or 8.5x20). It is screwing up printing from Outlook (zooming too large) and refuses to print to 8.5x11 from Word. Everything else prints fine.

I have no clue as to what is going on. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Have re-named all normal.dot files on a system and let word re-create it when you start it again?

Is the Print Layout view as it should be? (that is with margins on all four sides)

i haven't tried renaming the normal.dot file, but the margins appear to be normal! It is mind "bottling" (Will Ferrell in his new movie).

If it's happening with Notepad as well as Word, then it is probably the default printer on that PC. Windows XP (or whatever else you may have) rather than Office. But if you can find the 'Printers and Faxes' control in the Control Pannel, you'll probably find that those users have it defaulting to something strange. Right-click on a more normal printer and choose 'Set as default printer'.

I stopped and restarted the print spooler services and that seemed to have cleared things up for a bit. Although there are 1 or 2 more users who have experienced another issue...printouts coming out very large. Weird!

OK. I really dont have a clue as to what is going on here! Whenever I restart the print spooler services to correct someones printing issue it messes up 1/2 other users. And it still only affects mostly Word and Notepad....no other application. Is my spooler file corrupt? Should i delete the file and let it be recreated? Anyone out there with some answers?
