Hello!

I'm having a little trouble getting the prniter to work with my Linux machine (SuSE pro 7.3). I have it connected to my serial port at the moment. I tried installing it as a generic printer (it's a STAR printer and i cannot find drivers for it online) and just writing to /dev/ttyS0, but so far nothing! Does anyone have any hints or advice? is there a printer logfile for Linux? this is driving me nuts!!!

Thanx in advance for any help!

Printer should be printing through /dev/lp0 (It is on mine), as it best to use cups. Download cups and set it up, and you should be able to start printing.

Sorry, I didn't realise its on a serial port. Installing CUPS should fix it.

Thanx for the suggestion AP81!!

its working great now!
