printing from as400 to ibm proprinter problems

I have an AS400 with an infoprint 40. Uusally prints fine but when I get a jam during a a large print run and I type PAGE to continue the run sometimes the job starts from the beginning again. This also occurs if the WTR ends and has to be restarted. How can this be prevented as having a print job restart after its got 90% of the way through a 4000 page run is a pain!

Once the printing has started from the beginning THEN try to restart and put the page you require. There may be some delay as the buffer on the printer may contain information which needs to be printed first.
