I have three machines running Windows 98 that suddenly can't print from Acrobat Reader (version 4 or 5). An error message is generated indicating an "illegal operation" by Acrobat and the printer driver is then unuseable by any other program until the computer is rebooted. Reinstalling Acrobat (using a newer or older version) sometimes corrects the problem but not for long. I have multiple users with more-or-less identical machines printing from Acrobat to the same networked printers (using the very same printer drivers) with no ill effects. One machine just had the OS reinstalled to try to correct the problem to no avail. Can't find anything helpful on the Adobe site.
Is it just US, or is this a common problem?

I Have had the same problem when dealing with Adobe and HP Printers. As long as they don't print to the HP they are fine. As well I have about 17 systems running win '98 and only 2 have come up with this problem. The only advise I had was change video drivers, then video cards. Both work as a band-aid only. Last option install new printer drive, problem is HP doesn't have a newer driver then the one I have. If anyone can help or has even come a cross this please tell me.[ponder]
