Recently upgraded from Paradox 5 to Paradox 10. Our reports with formatted memo fields printed fine in version 5 but now we get a lot of errors saying "Recordxx will not fit in report". Any way to fix these ?

albertross,

Paradox's internal handling of reports has changed in the last several versions; this has affected the way older report layouts have been interpreted by the program and ocassionally needs some futzing to make sure everything fits within the margins.

Make sure you've:

1. Resaved all your reports, forms, scripts, and libraries (documents, for short) in Paradox 10.

2. Reviewed the stylesheet settings of all forms and reports (even if you don't use them directly). Make certain that all documents use stylesheets that actually exist on the drive.

3. Checked the clipping regions for all objects near the right borders of your reports. These are the ones that typically trigger the message you mentioned.

You can automate the stylesheet checks and document re-saving process with an ObjectPAL script. See for a starting place and download.

Hope this helps...
