We are having difficulty with a brand new machine running Win98SE and Foxpro 2.6A over Novell. The machine is printing to a local printer on LPT1 and whenever we try to print from Foxpro, we receive Spool32 and Rundll32 errors. We cannot then print again (from any package) until we reboot. Some much older machines seem OK. We have tried a different printer with no effect. The printers we are using are HP InkJets. I have heard that there may be an issue with faster machines or with certain amounts of memory being used.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a FoxPro DOS or FoxPro for Windows application? If FPD, are you printing through the HP printer driver, or the Generic / Text Only Pirnter driver pointing at the HP printer?

Also, when you say "over Novell", are only the data files on that server or also the application code and runtime files?

Hello kacker

Do not try to purchase new printers. I know this is a problem but it can be solved. If you are using Win98.
Select your printer from control panel printer icon.
Right click your default printer and select its properties.
The Proprities window appears which contains properties of this printer.
Select Details tab
Click on SPOOL SETTINGS button
Now select Printer Directly to Printer radio button.
Press Ok and close properties window.
Now you restart your computer

This will solve your problem.

Hope you enjoy your programming in foxpro like mine. Regards
