The file I'm trying to print was originally a PM 7 doc. I have the PageMaker plug-in package installed. I thought it was a problem with the PM conversion, but I just did a search for the error and found this:

The file does use Optima. When I Get Info about the font in Suitcase X1, it tells me that it's an Adobe Font, Optima 1, Version 001.004. Like the guy from the link says, I guess I'll just have to deal with it until it becomes a real problem.

Has anyone else run into this? Have you been able to get around/fix it?

I've just come across this problem printing from InDesign. I could print/export to PDF but the Optima Type 1 fonts ended up all over the place. My work around was to change all the Optima Type 1 fonts to True Type Optima fonts.

wow . . . apparently we have discovered a trend - my optima type ones give me the same result - my workaround is to save the file then covert all the optima to curves then create the pdf then close the file w/o saving so the optima is still editable . . . I will give adobe a call on this one since it isn't just me

Hi all,

I got the self-same message box trying to print from my Quicksilver Mac G4 to an old HP Laserjet 4MV. I even tried to connect the printer directly to the cpu via appletalk/ethernet cable then re-setup the printer from the Print Center (OSX 10.2.43)with same results.

Hmmmm
Thanks in advance
