Hello

It appears that in Word XP the background colour for a document is for screen appearance only and not printing. I have tried experimenting with drawing tools but these have not been satisfactory (and not always easy to manipulate). I need a black background with white text. Please help me find an easy method.

Thanks

Michael

Assuming you want just the area with text to have the black background . . .

Select the text to change. Select Format>Font>Font Color>White and click OK. Select Format>Borders and Shading>Shading tab>black Fill> and click OK.

If that's not what you want, let me know.

Thanks tterk

However the need was for white text on a completely black background.

Thanks

Michael

Ok. Change the text color to white and add a watermark to the page that consists of an all-black picture. Word Help is better than I in describing how to add a watermark.
