Printing consumes computer resources 1

The printer consumes all or at least most of the computer resources while printing. Other applications will work during the printing process but very, very slowly. I verified that SPOOLING has been checked and I even checked PRINT BACK TO FRONT just to make sure.

Many 'new' less expensive printers rely on the PC do do all the processing, rather than putting a processor in the printer itself. What kind of printer is it?
