Hi All,
Using CR8 and CR8.5.

When I compile a report, I first make sure my printer setup setting is set to Landscape. When someone else uses the report and prints to a different printer, it goes back to portrait with data cutoff on the right.
It also comes up portrait on screen. In a compiled report you cannot change printer settings.
Does anyone know how to remedy this problem?

Thanks

Al

I think this is all about the default printer and printer settings on the computer where the report is being printed. Compiled reports work off of the settings for the default printer on the computer they're being printed from. Have your user try going the following:

1. Go to the Start menu and select "Printers and Faxes".
2. Right-click on the default printer and select "Printing Preferences".
3. On the Layout page, select "Landscape". Apply and close.
4. Try printing the report again.

I'm running WinXP, if the user isn't, there may be some differences in the way things are named, but this basic process may work.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.
