Printing color seps for screens

Ive been trying to print my seps for a minute and the help menu suks. I read some where it could be my printer. So on that note the question would be do I need to create the seps or does the printer automatically does it once you set the printer options?

PostScript printers allow separations in the print dialog.

How/why do you propose to create seps within the layout?
