It seems that book lists always print as separate print jobs, rather than as one. Is that true, or can they be sent as one print job?

In other words, if you set up a book list with ten different component files, and then you go to File/Print to print the whole thing and you choose "print all publications in book," it will send everything as ten separate print jobs.

Is there any way around this? Can anyone think of a setting somewhere that avoids this, or alternatively a way to automate putting many different print jobs into one?

Thanks,

Christopher

Hi, cthaxter,

AFAIK the only way to get a single output printfile is to have single PM file - that would require you to copy the pages of all the "chapters" into one PM file.

Then what's the point of using book lists?

If that is true, then my question still stands as to how to automate the joining of print jobs.

The point of using books in PM is (a) you can keep the files to a manageable size (b) you can use different page numbering systems in the 'chapters' compared to the preface section, index section, etc.
