Hi

I've been creating barcodes by creating text files containing printer control codes and writing them, line by line, to the printer.

However, I'd like to employ the windows print systems within access (the above method doesnt work at all well with windows 2000). I've tried writing each line of the text file to a table and then creating a report from it, but the printer prints the control codes instead of the barcodes when I do this. How can I make the report be interpreted as printer instructions?

There are many barcode fonts available that will allow you to print your barcodes right through access. There are also companies that provide ActiveX controls that can be placed in your db that will produce many different kinds. DougP (one of the other Tek-Tips gurus) has a website at that should be helpful.
