I have downloaded a free Barcode 39 font and am able to use it in Notepad to print barcodes that scan, I need to put an '*' at the start and end of the text for the barcode to read.
When I try the same thing in Word 2000 it will not scan. I have tried disabling autocorrect features for *Bold* and _italic_ with real formatting but still no luck.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Use code 39 all the time in word 97 &2007. Not had a problem with it. maybe there is a problem in 2000. Have you tried other versions?

Hi greg0303 ,

Take a look here:
Various tips on using Code 3of9. I've used comercial 3of9 and other barcode fonts in Word 2000 without difficulty, though some of the freeware fonts don't behave properly.

Cheers

Hi,

In order to make the barcode in font 3 of 9 readable one should add a nonprintable character e.g. character(33) to the code.
