Hello,
I'm intending to use the WTSUPRN file to map all my printers to known good drivers. I've found the web site to be very very useful (many thanks!!). I have a question though. Are there any performance issues if I add ALL printers to this file to ensure that when/if new printers are added in the environment that they don't cause any server issues? I can add all my known printers to this file but I'd like to add all printers so that I don't have to worry about 'other' printers (unknown to me) being attached to users PC's and causing an issue during autocreation.

Thanks,

Well, the file has to be parsed by each logon, but since it's a text file, that's not much of a deal - unless you've got 1,000's of printers.

If you're using MetaFrame XP, you don't need to edit this file - indeed, if you do, then changes made in the CMC will overwrite any manual changes. This may have been brought in around FR1 or FR2 - my memory's a little hazy on this detail.

If you're using 1.8, then this is the safest way to go - although there are always 1 or 2 printers that just won't conform. It would be useful - not to mention time and headache saving - if you could make polite recommendations to your users as to which printers they should purchase if they want to print from your Citrix servers.

Hope this helps
