If I print out one record at a time, I always get and extra page with the Page Header and Footer on it and nothing else

What do I need to do to get this semi blank page to STOP

How are you printing one record at a time?

I have a report based on a query

there is a pop up window that asks what key number I want to print. I type in the number and it shows me a preview then I click on the printer icon

It sounds as if the detail is just long enough to push the report to two pages, but that the extra length is empty. Another possibility is that the report includes a page break.

Remou has it exactly correct, I'd bet.

Check the actual WIDTH of the detail section of your report. If it's even 1/64th of an inch WIDER than the printable area of your page, you'll get that second "ghost" page...

For example:

Page width, exact: 8.5 inches
Margins: 1" each, leaving 6.5 inches as the "printable" width. If your header/detail/footer grid is 6.51 inches wide, you'll get that 'ghost' page.
