Whilst trying to produce a report using Crystal Reports 7.0 within a Visual Basic(6) project, if there is an apostrohpe (') within a text field, the report is not produced and an error message is displayed - 'Error in report format'. Seems a bit ludicrous to me. Can anyone help - is there a service pack to correct the error?

Thanks

Cilla Wykes
Cilla,

What type of database are you using for your report?

SQL uses the apostrophe the same way that VB uses the quotation mark, i.e. If there is a quote within a string then the quoation mark must be doubled.

One way around this is to copy the subset you want to report on into a temporary DB,remove the apostrophies, then point your crystal report at the temporary D/B.
