I currently have 2 reports. The first shows an overview of a purchase order giving brief details of items, quantity etc. sorted by supplier - ie each supplier produces a seperate page of report.

The second report shows the same info in more detail.

What I would like to do is be able to print the overview report and then print the coresponding second report straight after for each vendor

so we would have vendor a, overview report, then vendor a, detailed report, then vendor b overview report, then vendor b detailed report.

does that make any sense?

I know I could set it up using a query to select each vendor, but this would mean more work for the warehouse chaps. Ideally what we could do would be to set up all the info during the day and then leave it printing overnight.

I'm kind of after a collate function!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you need more info, let me know. It feels quite difficult to explain what I'm after.

A quick and easy way would be to use 1 report, but 2 pages. The first for the overview and the 2nd for the detail.

Another way would be to create a form and subform. The form has the overview with the deatil in the subform.

Thanks for the quick response dcurtis.

My problem is that the first report is printed landscape and the second is printed portrait.

The whole page thing works really well, but I can't seem to get it to switch between the 2 layouts.

I haven't done it, but try using the report/subreport method. Create the report in landscape and the subreport in portrait. Put the subreport on the main report below a forced page break.

Again, I haven't tried it, but don't see why it wouldn't work.

Unfortunately the page layout on the subreport is over written by the page layout of the main report.

This is so frustrating! Surely there must be a way to do this....anybody???
