Hi,
I am using InDesign CS with MAC OS XTiger.
I work for a printer who has a Accuset 800 Imagesetter and an AGFA RIP.
When I create an InDesign file I have to export it as an EPS before I can get the file to the Imagesetter.
I have come across a problem[sadeyes]that when I use printers marks from InDesign I cannot get the file to the imagesetter. When I take off the printers marks the file goes to the Imagesetter without a problem.
Can anyone tell me if they have had a similar experience or if they know how to fix it.
It is time consuming to add my own colour bars etc.
Thank you for your replies. (-:

You might try looking at the Apple/Mac Operating System forum on Tek Tips. There are a number of questions/Answers about Accuset and Agfa RIPS. You might also try searching Tek Tips for Accuset and Agfa. I don't know if any of the problems people have with these are the same as the one you have.

One thing you might look at is the settings in the eps export window - making sure they match your equipment. The default bleed is zero all around. I don't know if that could interfere with the rip.

Thats an odd one. I throw this one out there - have you tried opening the eps files in Illus. then saving out as eps files then ripping one of the eps files.

Does your rip only take eps files? Can you rip any other files besides eps files such as postscript or PDFs

Thanks BodesMan for your reply.

Yes have tried the Illustrator take - but to no avail.

Our RIP used to rip other files straight from programs.

But we then upgraded to a MAC G5 with tiger and this is the way we have to go.

Apparently the RIP/Imagesetter isn't compatible with OS 10 at all. So we have an advantage there.

I mean I can generall get around the problem but it is the time consuming thing that is bugging. If I could just open a PDF and send as seps with printers marks it would save heaps of time..... even an INDD file or an AI file.. oh hang on I will wake up and add them all myself.
