Trying to recreat some printers on a new machine. Heres a little history first...

Remote location mainly uses this server with only 3 local users that access and 1 printer locally. We have a frame connection to the remote location. This machine runs an AP Accounting package only as of now the remote location still has to use the digi serial dial up connection to print correctly to the remote location. The printer does however have a jetdirect box and the local printer the local people use also has a jet direct box attached. The way the printer is setup localy to the jetdirect works correctly. But its not setup as a jetdirect in SCO ?? THis is why Im confused. I cant figure out how its setup. the port it uses is /dev/LP77 which I dont know how to create this setup and it has this in the printcap file

##### Intel NetportExpress printer #####
LP77|LP77|LP77-on-parallel-port-1::lp=LP77::intl_n=192.1.1.11::intl_p=3001::intl_text=enable:

I have tried to setup the remote printer over the frame with the jetdirect SCO setup and it does work but the AP software doesnt act right with this setup. It works correctly with anything that is not a /dev/null. If you look at the printcap it says LP77 is a Netport Express? which its not its a jetdirect box.

The people in remote location are still having to dial up to print which is quite costly and annoying to me. The printer setup as a standard HP jetdirect doesnt print when it should they have to actually go to the next step in the software to make it print. As in when it says its printing its not and wont do so until you say the print was ok. Also the font size and type are different and it page advances when printing is stopped. Its does none of this when setup as a standard serial printer.

So I would like to somehow setup the printer in remote location the same as LP77 is setup and also resetup LP77 on the new machine.

I hope someone can make sense ot of that, its kinda hard to explain.
