I have this problem at work with a computer on the network. the OS is windows 2000 and the issue is with network printers. this particular computer has access to 2 network printers. with no particular pattern, the network printers will totally disappear and then reappear. any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Are there local printers attached? If not, goto the file menu, and then server properties, see if it returns an error. Also check to see if spoolsv.exe is running. I've had cases where all the printers on a workstation disappear and a reboot fixes it - seems to be a problems with the printer subsystem crashing...

The print spooler service controls spoolsv.exe. Make sure the print spooler service stays 'started'. I had a problem awhile back: all of the printers dissapeared out of the print folder and the reason was that the print spooler service would not stay started. I had to edit the registry in order to get the print spooler service to stay started. If it's the print spooler service, post back here and I'll find the link/page that I used to fix it.
