printers disappear

PROB: printers disappear from win98/win2k clients printers folder
SOLUT: reboot PITA (pain in the a$$!!) don't want to do this
SPECS: win2k server independent print server, netshield (mcafee) 4.5.1 running on it; nt4.0/win2k network: nt4.0 file server, 2 DC (win2k) for user authentication; win98 & win2k clients for users; win2k server print server
HELP - users tired of rebooting to resolve!! ANY ADVICE, TKS TO ALL

As far as i know that's the only way to get the spooler service on the clients systems back up. Not sure if you can stop and restart the service on the 2K machines?

Also, highly recommend going with another AV solution

Similar problems. Today, I pulled up the printers folder and used the <PF5> key and it locked the computer once but the next time printers reappeared but Win became a little unstable.
