printer usb cable

i'm sorry if this subject is not related to this topic but i think this topic is the best choice..



i'm trying to use my printer with two computers, how ever i couldn't set sharing options and i can't use it by sharing.

so i'm thinking whether or not, if i plug a 2 ported usb cable to the printer and plug one port to first computer and plug other port to the second computer, does it works?

Dont know if that will work you used to be able to get a switch box with the older serial cables though dont know if there is a usb equivalent.

How were you trying to share the printer? were you logged in as an administrator?

You weren't able to share it? When you added the printer did you go into Properties of the printer and click on the Sharing Tab?
What happens when you do that? What's grayed out whats not?

I'm sure you have done this, but want to make sure the steps were taken and what is happening when you do those steps?
