Printer sends out one blank page

I have an HP 970Cxi connected as a second parallel printer to a HP dc7100. About every hour or so it will send out one blank page, or it may have some random characters on it.

I have tried replacing the cable, and rebuilding the queue.

Any ideas.

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers? What happens if you swap ports, putting this printer on LPT1 instead of LPT2?
