by mistake i had configured the remote printer on my sun solaris system.
Now My problem is I have network printer with jetdirect card and one of my system is sending a request to another solaris system as that terminal is guessing to this termainal as a server.
I want to stop request to remote System(solaris system). Can anybody tell me how to stop the request to remote system?

Thanks,
Ajay

Did you configure this remote printer as the default printer? If so, then uncheck it using admintool. You can also blow the printer away to solve the problem.

lpadmin -x <printername>
should kill any printer stone dead from the command line ...

(admintool sometimes seems to be funny about it)

you'll then want to remove all traces of the printer from the remote machine if it's still playing up, from the spool directory, and similar.

Hi Sunman,

when I run admintool and select printer option from there not find out the printer.
Can you give me more tips.

Regd,
Ajay

are you checking admintool on the remote machine or the local machine?

look in /etc/ at printers.conf ... all your printers should be in this file (unless it's an old solaris, in which case you might have a /etc/printcap)
