How do I get this workstation to print if it's pinging the printer okay, but still not printing. The name is correct and it's set to the correct default. ? Thanks

What kind of network is this? Is there a printer server on the network? "Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people."

Pardon my ignorance, I'm new at this and I'm at the beginning stages (very beginning) of learning the network here. Printer server?

We have 4 computer labs - each with their own printer and printer IP address. In the lab I'm working in, all of the computers but one are printing. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice now, but no luck. Not sure what to do.

Is each printer physically connected to a PC by a printer cable or are the printers also connected directly to the network? "Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people."

sorry - everything's networked together

So do you just have one machine that cannot print to any printer on the network? Can any of the 4 machines print to all 4 printers or does each machine just print to one printer? If that is the case, there is not much need to have them on the network. You could just connect each printer directly to each PC through the parallel port and then "share" each printer. Without a more detailed explaination of your network it is difficult to understand exactly what you are trying to do.

I have 15 pcs and 1 printer hooked up to the network.
All of the PCs are printing except 1.

What OS is running on the workstations? The easiest way to trouble shoot would be to check the printer port settings on a working machine and see how the printer is setup. If you can tell me what OS we are talking about I might be able to give more specific ideas

On a machine that works. Go to Start--Settings--Printers

Right-click on the printer in questions and left-click properties

Go to the "details" tab

Where it says "print to the following port" This is the correct path to the printer. If you let me know what this says I could tell more but otherwise just make sure the machine that cannot print has the same info. If it does it is probably not a network problem but a driver issue or some other problem.

Probably the driver because I originally copied the information from another machine. I'll reinstall the driver for that machine and see if that helps. Thanks

I have a network printer. we have 2000 professional version.
one laptop user can get into the network, also in the printers folders shows the printer's status as ready, but doesnt want to print.
thanks in advance.
