I am having a problem with a few computers showing the printers offline using peer to peer printing through MS networking.. I have seen issues before with Netware printers.. which I have but not in these instances.. these are MS networking shared printers.. all on the same network, I can see the remote PC and printer.. add the drivers.. it tells me it is offline.. I try to put it back online... no dice.. I have a work around.. but I don't really like doing that.. also I have tried installing msdun13 to update whatever files for networking.. I am thinking it is in the registry.. but I don't know where or what..
Thank you in advance.

Cuz'n Mark,

I'm in a small office using Peer-to-Peer as my sole network. I've seen a similar problem, but the cause may be different. I've one computer that seems to be the kingpin. When it does not see the network neighborhood, several of the other computers also have a problem. After several reboots and/or relogins on the kingpin, and then rebooting the other computers, all is well and they see the printer. Note that the printer is not on that computer. I have been educating my folks to make sure their computers are booted and they are logged in before trying to print. It has helped.

Good luck.

Actually we are using some canon copier/printer/scanner/fax printers. which use MS sharing. with about 35 people using it I have 2 that show the printer offline. we have pdc/bdc . running wins etc.. I know it has to be the machine.. I am trying not to rebuild both pc's because of the software that is already loaded.

Texas mom - I have seen a problem like that before on a p2p setup. It was netbeui I think. with win95 and a win98 setup.. win98 wouldn;t see win95.. or vice a versa. won had to be promary and the other secondary.. then all was well.
