Hi

I know that this is probably a software issue but I may have more success in solving this in this forum.

We have two LJ 4300dtn and one 4000dtn printers.

One of our programs integrates Crystal Reports, the first time you use it it will save the paper tray selection. This works when printing to one of the 4300dtn printers and when printing to the 4000dtn, but when printing to the other 4300dtn it does not save the setting.

The printer driver settings are configured identically but I cannot identify the problem. The software developers also cannot identify the problem.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks
B

Can you clarify just what you mean by "it will save the paper tray selection"?

If the application/driver always sends appropriate initialisation sequences, at the start of each job, to explicitly set the environment, then the same data/application/driver combination should, in theory, produce the same results on two printers of the same make and model.

If the results are different, this would seem to suggest that the printers themselves are not configured in exactly the same way, AND that at least one element of the environment is NOT set by software.

Check that the user-environment defaults (set via the front panel) are the same on both printers.
