Hi,

I have a user who brings her laptop home and gets a "printer not found error" when she fires up any Office 2003 app. She logs into her domain profile (cached). Of course she is getting this because she is not on a network or is logged into her DSL and the ports neccessary to connect to the printer at the office are blocked.

My question is if there is a way to disable this error in office while enabling her to keep her default printer on her domain profile.

Any info is much appreciated!!

Thanks
TG

This error occurs when the computer cannot detect a printer connection to the LPT or COM port. The startup files say that there should be a printer attached but when the singles are passed to the printer port, nothing comes back, thus the error. If she plugs the laptop into a home printer all will be well.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!
