Printer no go after certain period of time.

Epson stylus color 700 & Aopen MX36LE-U. After the PC has been running for a certain period of time when attempting to print a message "out of paper is generated" reboot the PC and printer works fine.
 
Would suspect the built in parallel port is broken. That it starts failing with heat. Ed Fair

Thanks for the advice, is there any way to confirm that this is the problem.
 
There were diagnostics for earlier machines. Perhaps you could borrow a copy of "checkit" for the duration of a test.
