Does anybody know what would cause a computer to keep print jobs stored in memory, and then re-print everything that it has already printed? I have a problem where even though I shut the computer down at night, I can come in and turn it on and it reprints everything from the day before. Jobs are not being cleared from the queue and are just saying they have been printed. Printer is an HP Laserjet 1200 and PC is running Windows 2000 OS.

I found a checkbox in the printer properties that allows print job to be kept after printing, but it is unchecked. I have downloaded the latest drivers from HP (and some older ones) but problem still exists. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try uninstalling your printer. Re-install, but do not allow windows to install it--do it manually with the newest driver you just downloaded. HTH & good luck. sdlomi2

I had this same problem on our network when printing to an HP laserjet 4100N. The solution was to turn off Bi-directional printing. The queue now clear's with no problem.

Tried uninstalling the printer and re-installing it manually. Still no luck. Haven't turned off the bi-directional yet, but I'll check into that today. Printer is setup through USB, so I'm not sure if turning of bi-directional printing will have an effect on it or not; but I am going to try it.

I just changed the driver to an HP Laserjet III (since most of the Laserjet line is backwardly compatible) and it worked perfectly. Can't understand why the correct driver for the printer doesn't work. Am I missing something?
