While installing HP Laserjet 5 printer in windows nt server 4.0, through add printer wizard, I am getting print processor problem and the installation is getting cancelled. I could ping to the printer using the IP address. I am trying to configure the printer using Microsoft's tcp/ip printing. I checked the spooler service which is running. Help to solve this problem.

Try to replace the driver from HP site - use PCL6 driver for NT. It works fine on all our HPLJ5's.

I tried with the PCL6 driver. I am unable to add the printer as it gives " Operation could not be completed. Print processor unknown". I checked the WINPRINT.DLL file under winnt\system32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86 and it is correct size. I deleted the old dll file and expanded the new file from NT 4.0 server cd. Eventhen the error message comes. Pls let me know what causes the problem and how to resolve.

Thanks in advance,
S.Senthil

Are all the SP's installed? I would suggest to reapply SP6a - it does miracles sometimes, if the problem has no obvious resolution.
