Printer Help Need

Printer not seen on a laptop running xp home but is visable on the three Pcs running 98se on a peer to peer network using a hub. Also when i connected a laptop running Win Me i could not see the printer here?
The printer is seen Intermittently on the laptop with xp
but after installation when i do a restart it cannot be found and cannot be seen on the network by the laptop.On the pc sharing the printer it is installed i can see it on three other machines without a hitch running windows 98se
The laptop can see two other network printers as well as the other pcs.

Older versions of windows relyed heavy on netbios. Windows 2000 & XP only need tcp/ip and DNS. Verify that the XP box has more than just tcp/ip installed. you may need netbui or ipx/spx(netbios). Remember netbui is non-routable. EB
