I am trying to create a printer friendly page in HTML. I've tried using CSS and the div tag in the HTML page but this does not work. My top half of the web page and side are images that make up the navigation and log and those things are not removed even setting up a separate CSS page with the print link and using div to divide the sections and turning those sections off in the CSS.

Thanks.

I really hate it when people expect help without being able to show any relevant code whatsoever.

This isn't the psychic helpdesk!!!

Looks like it's been generated by a drag'n'drop, so-called wysisyg program. Must be quite an old version (?pre 2004?) as it still uses tables for layout. Suggest you write it properly from first principles or do a Forum Search (top of this page) for the forum that supports your generator.

I have never seen any of these generator programs that would produce a decent print layout. You will almost certainly need to do it properly by hand. The usual way is to use Media Types in your CSS. See W3schools to get you started.

I also notice that you have asked 46 questions in these forums, and you don't have any marked as helpful/valuable answers. If you haven't had a single useful answer, read faq222-2244. If you have, then read faq222-2244 to see how to acknowledge useful answers.

If you want the best response to a question, please check out FAQ222-2244 first.

If you want a quick solution, you could give all the tables (or table cells) a class called 'noprint' or something and add [tt]display: none;[/tt] to the declaration of that class in the print stylesheet. It would not be an ideal solution, but it would work.

Thanks Trojan [smile] Sometimes people need help with usage guidelines as well as technical help.

There's no copyright on that idea - feel free to reference that faq as and when required. I'm sure you have spotted that user's stats are visible by clicking on their name.
