Sorry this was posted in the wrong forum so have been redirected to this forum:

Client has a 1212 Raven Printer using Avery 4020 (3" x 15/16") continuous fanfold.

We have been using this from a SCO box with no issues but now when attempting to print from XP under an EPSON FX 80 driver it is somehow overriding the Printers 3" form setting ... it is printing one label then form feeding 11 inches ... loaded Avery's Wizard and it only has a template for a full 11" form ... so setup a custom label in the Print Server settings PLUS set Word 2k3 to the same parameters yet the Print job is still somehow overriding the Printer FORM setting???

Anyone have any ideas?

Note: a suggestion was made in the hardware forum that I try a Panasonic Driver ... not sure which one would be compatible ... did some research on the FX 80 command codes and found that there is and ESC command that the OS can send to override the FORM length so suspect XP/Epson driver is probably pushing that out ... wonder if a print to file would reveal what is being sent out using a hex editor?

I'm not familiar with this printer, or the Epson FX80 emulation (I usually deal with PCL5 and PCL6 print streams).

But a few comments:

(a) If your driver has a 'print to file' option, I imagine that it should capture any 'set initialisation' type sequences, as well as the body of the print job.

(b) Whether you can interpret it would depend on knowledge of the language (Epson FX80?)

(c) What printer language emulation(s) does this 'Raven' printer support?
