Printer feeds blank pages after printing

In Access2003 I am printing on a custom form that is continues feed (tracter feed). The printing goes fine, the problem is when finished printing it feeds 1 1/2 sheets (forms) through so I have to roll them back to print another one.

What can I do to stop this? Thanks

As far as I recall, this is about making your paper in Access match the paper set up in the printer (printer properties) and making sure that the report page is not longer than the paper. You may have to use a custom paper length.

I have set up a custom page size on the computer I program from and when I send a report to be printed it works fine. However when I install the database program into a second computer that the custom form is not set up in I run into the problem. I assume therefore I need to programmatically set the size of the paper and report but I don't know how.

The heights of all sections total less just under the 8.5 inches height of the report so I don't think that is the problem.

Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Eddy

I am using SageKey to distribute this system to end users thus I can't manually install the custom paper size on every end users computer unless I have them do it and I really don't want to get into that.

I looked into the article you referenced but my printer does not have the Custom option in the Paper Size list so I can't use its help apparently.

Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
Eddy

The paper size in this case is a function of the printer, not Access. If your users cannot create a custom paper size, they will have similar problems. It seems a bit chancy to distribute an application that uses non-standard paper sizes.

You are correct it does seem chancy. Maybe they are a standard size and I just haven't looked into the standard options for paper size well enough. After all, Apperson sells the documents I am using. One is a pretty standard billing invoice, 8.5 x 8.5 I believe. Is that a option in the list of "standard" forms?

Thanks again
Eddy

I think tractor fed paper is non-standard at this stage. The paper size choices are dictated by the printer. The only person I know who still has a tractor feed is a person who markets paper. It took a while to get the pre-printed forms working just right. Even with large, 'industrial' printers, tractor feed takes fiddling. If your users own a tractor printer, they are probably used to fiddling with the paper sizes.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. Maybe I am misrepresenting the situation by not understanding what a tractor feed is. I am referring to a Dot matrix or impact printer. Is that the same as a tractor feed? I can't believe they are virtually extinct.

If the continuous feed paper is 8.5 high by 8 wide is there a way to code the report to print landscape? 8.5 is standard with for paper, maybe if I print it landscape it would page feed appropriately.
