Hi.

I have a multiple server network running NW5SP6.0a. I have a non networked HP2000C printer connected to a workstation and shared so others can print to it.

Problem is: On a couple of workstation that had printed to it ok, I now get the following error message:

There was an error writing to \\workstation name\printer name for
printer (HP 2000C Printer): The printer queue is full. The printer will
be set to work offline........

I restart the workstations in question, as well as the workstation that the printer is attached to and also unplug/reconnect the printer itself to clear any queues with no success. Also, this error message comes up when noone else is printing to it so only one print job (maybe 100K max) is in the queue.

Any ideas or suggestions would be (and is) greatly appreciated.

Are you using nprinter or windows print sharing. I reccomend using nprinter - see how that works for you.

Thanks for your response dwise1.
I'm using windows printer sharing right now. I will try nprinter.

Update: problem solved.

There is absolutely no reference to the initial error message on this planet, of that I'm sure!

Turns out that there were remnants of past installs/uninstalls in the workstation's registry. I uninstalled/deleted the existing printer, then removed all references to the printer in the registry, restarted the workstation and reinstalled the printer. All came up fine and all connected workstations can now print.

Thanks again for any and all help!
