We have some locally developed software which generates printer output. It prints fine on a HP Laserjet 2100TN but not on a 4si or a 4000TN. On those two the font size is huge. All have PS (Postscript) drivers installed. Any ideas? In addition, can anyone tell me the difference between a PCL driver and a PS driver?

I have found that when I use the PS driver, I run into trouble. Not always, but on occasion. The HP sight should be able to tell you the technical difference between PCL and PS, but Postscript is another printer language, supports many additional fonts. Try uninstall/reinstall using PCL instead of PS.

Use the 2100 driver when printing to the 4000 and see if it helps, the PS versions on the 4000 & 2100 are compatible. You could also try it on the 4Si but it probably won't work on that machine. For that one I don't have any good suggestions if the 2100 doesn't work. Joe Miller
