Printer Config (Printconf-gui) does not run on RH7.1 (KDE) ...help

Hi,

I got pre-installed RH7.1 from Dell. I tried to install a printer by running print configurator (under KDE) but it doesn't work. I also tried typing "/usr/sbin/printconf-gui" and "printtool" in command prompt but I get this error message.

Traceback (innermost last):
File "usr/sbin/printconf-gui", line 162, in?
import gtk, gnome.ui, libglade
Import Error: No module named libglade

What do I need to install onto my Linux server in order for my print configurator to work.

try:

rpm -q libglade

If it doesn't respond with the libglade package, then you need to grab the RH CD, and install it.

Or download from here --> ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/7.1/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/libglade-0.14-3.i386.rpm

Then 'cd' to the download directory and install as root with :

rpm -Uvh libglade*.rpm

Hi guys,

I typed in rpm -q libglade and get the result

>libglade-0.14-3

I tried re-installing by rpm -Fvh libglade*.rpm but it still does not work.

What should I do?

Hi,



There have been updates on the printtool rpms so you could try those :



ftp://updates.redhat.com/7.1/en/os/i386/printconf-0.2.15-2.i386.rpm

ftp://updates.redhat.com/7.1/en/os/i386/printconf-gui-0.2.15-2.i386.rpm



Download somewhere, 'cd' to download directory then install/upgrade as root with :



rpm -Uvh print*.rpm



I think the libglade error actually relates to the python libglade stuff. Do you have these rpms ?



rpm -q pygtk-libglade

rpm -q pygnome-libglade



If not, download and install these as previously described ...



ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/7.1/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/pygtk-libglade-0.6.6-7.i386.rpm

ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/7.1/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/pygnome-libglade-0.6.6-7.i386.rpm
