Is there a way to set Citrix so that local printers don't get installed onto the Citrix system? Hvae a situation where there are 5-10 duplicates of the same printers and it's confusing as hell. Plus all the printers are setup already on the citrix box, so having them upload is redundant.
Thanks.

depends on the version of citrix
if it's presentation 4 then use the policies

prior to this and in deed works for above as well
go into the terminal services manager and then on the ica and rdp (if enabled) - on client settings - there is a tick to disable lpt mapping , printers , drive passthrough etc

this is a all or nothing setting though - if you want more granualar control then use the plicies

personally i disable it and use network printers only.

Hi there

Orr you can use settings on a per user basis in AD. Select the Environment Tab and select connect client printers yes/no.

Sometime its useful to have one or two users have client printers (Home Workers, etc).

Thanks. This is not an AD environment, and individual user management is not my game. All of the printers I need are Novell NDPS printers that I use eDirectory to manage and deploy. The ones I need are already pushed to the Citrix server. I Just don't need local printers installing as it duplicates (and triplicates, and quadrupulates, and quintupulates etc) what is already there.

I'll check those settings you mentioned, Terry. Thanks again.
