I'm responsible for roughly 50 printers (99% HP) in my building. Whenever something goes wrong with one we have to call a 3rd party to come out and fix it. REALLY frustrating since a) my techs usually know right away what the problem is, b) the delay until the unit is fixed, c) the extra cost.

What do I need to do to allow techs here to fix the printers? Is it as simple as having spare hardware on site or do we need some sort of certification before HP will send the hardware?

Thanks in advance.

If you have that many HP printers,HP has a partner program.
Currently from the HP website you can obtain manuals,drawings,f/w and driver updates, spares kits, maintenance kits, etc.
There used to be a certification program within the partner program for certification.
