Hi Guys
I need some help.
I have a HP Photosmart C4180 all-in-one printer. I have not had any problems with it until recently. The last colour and black cartridge I brought works well for a while then for no reason they stopped working and the printer tells me it’s not the correct cartridge or it’s not fitted right. They are original cartridges and I have not touched them, they are not empty but half full.
A friend of mind said she read in the paper a few months back that HP had sent out a batch of doggy cartridges. Has anyone heard about this or can you tell me what the problem is.
Thanks Bunny

Bunny,

All HP printer toner and ink cartridges have a chip inside them that allows the printer to tell OEM from Non-OEM.

Similar for other Mfgs.

If the chip has corrupted/failed, then the only solution is to replace the cartridge.

If this is a mfg batching problem, then you may have cause for financial redress.
