Printer Busy or Error

We have multiple printers {most of them HP} on LPR on a NT4 server and it happens quiet often that the users cannot print and the status of the printer becomes “Printer Busy or Error” the only thing that I can do is restart spooling, has anyone got any ideas or can help me with this one?

You can get this error and many other strange problems when using Microsoft`s TCP/IP port.
If you are using that port, try installing a HP TCP/IP port instead. You can do that by installing HP TCP/IP portmonitor that is located on HP`s ftp.
