There is also a utility in the resourcekit (con2port) to make connections to printers. I use it in the logonscript where i determine wich computer the user logs on and then maps the printers in the neighbourhood of this computer. Normally the printerconnections are mapped to the userprofile but in this way i map it to the computer, which seems to be more logic as people move from computer to computer.
with con2port you can erase all existing printerconnections, establish a number of connections and determine wich printer will be the default printer.
