My dad uses an old DOS program all the time.
From this he needs access to the printer.
The program works fine under XP, but the PC is rather old, slow and shaky, and it came with XP preinstalled. (No CD, and most likely no license key either!)
These days Microsoft has decided, we must all go Win7 and 64 bit!
All new PC's around here are shipped with Win7 Home 64 bit, and I know for sure, that the app. does NOT run at all, no matter the compatibility settings.
I know of DOSBox, which let people play ancient games etc, but can it access the printer under Windows?
Can it do it, if the PC has a real, good for everything LPT1 port?
(I do not know, if his printer requires Windows or if it can run alone, however.)
