I have a Windows 2003 SBS and i have problems with the printer. The server has installd DHCP and it gives automaticly the ip address for the printer. My problem is that every time the DHCP renews ip addresses the printer gets a different new one and it gives port conection problem. Whant can i do?

thanks

you need to get teh MAC address of the printer and make a reservation..this will fix you 200%

almost got a paragraph there :)

Or simply give the printer a static address rather than DHCP. Although the DHCP route is easier.

yes but if you use a static IP, and the static IP is within the range of the dhcp scope, you need to exclude that address from being assigned through dhcp or you'll end up with an IP conflict potentially
