I'm not sure which forum to post this in, Quark, Windows or Acrobat but here goes...

I just upgraded to Acrobat Professional 6.0 from Standard. I updated to 6.0.1 and my print settings were changed. I can no longer print to file from Quark. I need to set up a "print to file" port in Windows 2000 Pro and I don't know how to do this. My computer WAS set up to print that way before I upgraded but Adobe changed my settings and my Print to File port is GONE, not just disabled, gone.

Does anyone here know how to set this up again?

Version 6 uses "Adobe PDF" as the PDF printer. The settings can be changed by selecting that printer and changing it's properties (on the Ports tab), the way you would with any other printer.

Keep in mind that this will apply to all uses of Acrobat, so if you don't want this setting for those uses, you'll need to reset the properties.

Yes, but when I go into the properties for the Adobe PDF, then to ports...there is no FILE port. It just isn't there and my question is whether anyone knows how to add one. There is one thread here that suggests adding a "Local Port" and naming it FILE but I tried that and it doesn't work for me.
I'm running Windows 2000 Pro, Acrobat 6 Professional and I can't print to file. This is very frustrating.

OH! I tried again with suggestion and it worked this time.

The key is to type in the colon, I missed that the first time. So you have to type in

FILE:

Just like that or it doesn't work.

THANKS!
