I am trying to set up a Print Server from 2003 server, where the prints are supposed to be printed as files, and to be redirected to a PDF Distiller server.

But when I use the Port FILE: on the print server, anyone who prints, just gets the dialogue box asking for a file name(only one text box to write in), and not the "save as" dialogue.

Any ideas how to either:

Make the print port FILE: to show the dialogue Save as.. so we can put the file into the right folder/server by browsing folders?

or

Make the print port FILE: to save to specific folders(any ini-files e.g. that puts the file in the correct folder)?

I have no idea where the prn files go when I choose to write in a file name in the file name dialogue, and leaving no URL/Path in front of the file names. Have to make it simple for the users...

If I recall they should be spooled to the same place where other print jobs go ie C:\Windows\System32\spool\printers.

any idea how to make them go into a folder, ex on a server instead?
