Print the date as dd-Short-Month-yy

I would like to know how to print the date as 3-Mar-11. Orginal date field is coming from db as 3/4/2011.
How to convert it?

If it is of date datatype, you can right click on it->format field->date and select the format there (or in the customize style tab). Or you could convert it to text and format it using this formula:

totext({table.date},"d-MMM-yy")
